May 2006
This is the May report in a series of ongoing reports to the Congregation on the progress of our campaign to Prepare This Place.
First the finances:
As of the end of March, just over $133,000 has come in of our total pledges of $355,300. We are maintaining a steady income that projects to meeting our total for the three year goal. At the 33% span of the three year time frame, over 38% of the funding has come in! We continue to be grateful to all of you in being faithful to the pledges. God is surely speaking to us in Preparing his Place!
An update on the planning and projects:
* The sound system upgrade project of the PTP is progressing. In addition to the new assisted listening system reported previously, major work has now been completed on relocation of the sound mixing position to the downstairs location. This phase was to shorten two of the pews as well as install a leveling platform. The new mixing position furniture, custom manufactured in Mishawaka, Indiana for us, has been received and should be in place by the end of the month. Additional amplifiers and cabling are also now in place.
* Proposals from two electrical engineering firms have been received and another proposal expected for the electrical system upgrade. In addition, Patrick Perry has met with an Edison representative at the Church to go over their requirements. We fully expect to go to Session in May with a recommendation for the electrical work.
* Again, the call for Volunteers who are always needed to both lead the work and participate in the discussions about our improvements. Your input will be welcome.
In Christ,
Ben Furuta for your Prepare This Place campaign
