Got Memories? We Need Them!
We continue to do some very detailed research on Calvary’s history for a long-overdue book. We’re at a point at which we need some human input! If you have a special memory you would like to share, please write it out and send it to Holly Vecchio. (Address is in the church directory.)
We will use these paragraphs in two ways: to enhance the book and to create a new bulletin board in the Living History Room.
We may not be able to use them in their entirety, but any little nugget of memory would be most helpful. We especially hope long-time members will respond!
Tell us about some event that was meaningful to you over the years, or about an encounter with one of our former ministers. Or give us an anecdote about one of our members, still with us or not. Perhaps you have some special knowledge of the building facility, or of the preschool or of the library’s history, or of the missionaries Calvary has supported. Or perhaps you have an answer to "Whatever happened to . . .?"
Make your contribution funny or nostalgic, or informative - the only requirement is that it mean something to you.
Your paragraph may be hand written or typed and may be in conversational, or even fragmented writing. (Of course, Pulitzer Prize writing is acceptable too.) It would be very helpful to have your paragraphs in by the middle of February, but we would not turn any down if they came later. If you have a photo from the past that you would like to share, please include that too, but be sure your name is on the back. Thanks very much!
WANTED: Historian/Archivist
Like history? Love Calvary? We have a wonderfully organized Archives Room on the second floor, thanks to a former member. We need someone to maintain it with tender loving care, and to periodically change the display(s) in the Living History Room. Actually, it does not take a lot of time. If you are interested in being Calvary’s Historian/Archivist, please contact Holly Vecchio at 626-588-2377, so that you name may be submitted to Session. Thank you!
